Unlock Calls in GHL: New Sub-Account Phone Config

It is time to hook up the phone number for this new sub-account! This part is super important for getting them connected properly. We’ve broken it down into clear steps below to make it easy. You’ll be checking their Google presence, selecting the best local number, setting up the forwarding magic, and making sure their email and domain info is up-to-date. Let’s dive in and get it sorted.


  • Checking for Google Link:
    • Verify if the client has a Google link in ClickUp Project, where we can verify their location.
    • Use maps to locate the business and nearby locations phone area code.
  • Selecting a Phone Number:
    • Let’s go back to GHL platform and in the account navigate into phone label and click on +Add phone number and follow the prompts.
    • In filter, Add the first phone numbers of the business area and click on apply, so that you can select a phone number near from the business.
  • Configuring Call Forwarding:
    • Input the forwarding number from the cheat sheet (this will always be the same number)
    • Adjust settings for call handling (on/off).
    • Set call duration 1 and a 60
    • Replace name by a friendly phone number format: Replace +1 158 4562 by (158) 4562
    • Let’s go change the Twilio phone number in the custom values section.
  • Updating the Twilio Phone number value:
    • Update the Twilio value and confirm the location domain in custom values label
